We’re thrilled to welcome Nurse Pherris, a powerhouse RN who’s spent two years on the front lines of Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford’s Emergency Room and six years at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, where she’s mastered the art of rapid healing and patient care under pressure.

But Nurse Pherris brings more than just medical expertise – she carries a deeply personal mission rooted in childhood memories that shaped her entire career path. What inspired you to be a nurse?

“When I was a young child, I helped my mom take care of my grandparents when they were hospitalized. My mom and I would visit them every single night, and I witnessed something incredible – I watched nurses transform my grandparents’ pain into comfort with their gentle care and expertise. Seeing that level of compassion and healing in action was absolutely life changing. In those hospital hallways, I discovered my calling: a career dedicated to caring for others.”
